The wedding is the dream fairy tale. A day that most couples plan together or at least the future bride does. All wedding have certain aspects that seem to always run in a certain way that covers the basic turn of events. The timeline of a wedding usually goes the same in the big sense or at least they all touch the same special moments.
There are moments at your wedding that you should truly live and feel. These moments will not come back. These moments are unique and should not be overlooked. It is true that there is a lot of agitation and stress that comes with planning your wedding, but if you truly want to live in the day, to feel with your significant other the magic of it all, then you should not overlook the most memorable parts of your wedding. You will get to see it all on video and in photos, but it will not be the same. Why regret not living in the moment!
The parts most weddings have in common are points such as hair and makeup, getting ready, the guest arriving, everything begins, the toast, the food the dancing, these happen at most weddings. They are all beautiful moments that mean the world to the happy couple.
But there are moments that should not be overlooked. In those moments of planning your wedding, there might be certain things you will overlook if there is no one there to point them out. Live these moments and enjoy these moments.
A Moment with Mom
There is something a bit more personal when a bride chooses to get ready in the home she grew up in, if this is possible of course, with her mother by her side. Sure bridesmaids are great but your best friend will never be your mother. She was not there when you were sick to make it all better. Imagine getting ready in your mother’s dressing room. A room most girls probably watched their mothers get ready for an evening out so many times while growing up.
Make sure the moment is just for the two of you for a little while, before the agitation begins. Mothers are the main reason we usually reach the places we are and they deserve the respect of being the main person there to zip or tie the last piece of your dress before you walk out to begin the next chapter of your life. Cherish the part where you get ready and make sure the person that matters most is there with you.
The Man of the Hour
If there is one thing we can all agree on is that the groom is the one that is overlooked on his wedding day. Yes, it is his wedding day as well and should not be forgotten because there is a princess in white running around. It is not the groom’s fault that he is not wearing a big puffy beautiful gown. Talk to the photographer and make sure he pays attention to the groom as well.
Those Emotional moments
These emotional moments come and go all throughout the day and they should not just be swept away off the face. Take a moment as think about what is making you tear up and soak up that moment, it won’t happen a second time.
Walking down the Aisle
This is a very emotional moment for most brides. This moment is so pure is can break any heart and melt into tears. The process usually takes place in front of all the people you love and in front of a divine power that goes with the beliefs that the families have. Besides all the crying you have a lot of people on standby. There is the bride that everyone looks at. There is the father of the bride walking her down the aisle. There is a groom waiting patiently at the end of that aisle. These are all emotional moments. The father of the bride is giving his little girl, which he has been protecting and next to since she was born, away to this man she has found and chosen. It can get very emotional for the father of the bride. The bride might want to get to that alter fast, but once she is holding her father by the arm it tends to become a little bit difficult to let go of the only man that has ever mattered since you can remember. The last part is the most decisive part of the whole wedding. This is the moment that makes two people go from a couple to husband and wife.
The First time you see each other
It is true that letting go of a fathers hand is hard but once the bride reaches the groom they all seem to just look at each other in awe and with wonder. The moment seems to sink in and the emotions that everyone feels seem to evaporate and another feeling takes over, a feeling of pure joy. That moment should be captured and cherished. It is the first time you get to see each other as bride and groom. It is the last time you get to see each other before you are officially man and wife and begin your life together.
The Moment you say “I do”
This moment is a very decisive moment for the happy couple. Once you have said yes your life together begins in front of all the people you love. There is not much to be said about this moment, it is all said when you say “I Do”. It is a moment you should look into each other’s eyes and immortalize it for as long as your memory will allow you.
The first Kiss
This will be the first time you kiss as man and wife. Remember, you have never done this before together. You will never have another first kiss as husband and wife. If you think about it we are pretty lucky, we get two first kisses with the person we love. The first one ever and the first one as husband and wife. Pretty amazing.
Vows
Vows are hard to write sometimes for most people. Words don’t pour out the same way for everyone. That does not mean you do not feel deeply for your significant other. If you find it hard to express yourself you can choose to say your vows just between the two of you. You can take a moment for yourselves and exchange your vows in an intimate space. Maybe the wedding destination has meaning to the both of you and choosing a spot might even be easier.
The first Dance
Think of the first dance like this, no matter how busy you both have been with relatives and everything else going on, you can literally take 3 minutes for yourselves. The length of the song you choose will be your time together!
Cutting the Cake
Think of this part as a sweet beginning to your life together. Just enjoy it. Cake is cake, have a piece.
Respect Your Guests
Once you are a little bit more relaxed take a moment and show appreciation to your guests and thank them. They came for you. They got dressed and ready for your wedding. Show them respect and appreciation. Take some photos with people that are special to you. You will be happy you did so when the event has passed and even years have gone by, even some of the people will move on with time, but you will always have that photo to remember them by. There are so many emotions that swell as the bride is waiting to enter the ceremony, with the groom, her parents, and all the guest and the groom waiting for her to arrive. You should capture and truly live these moments for they only come once in life. All of these moments only have meaning and mean the world to a couple if they are in love.
It might sound like a love poem but the truth is that if the couples are not both invested in their relationship, a wedding will only be a number of mechanical moments that they would go through, gracefully none the less, but all the important moments mentioned will go by just as any other moment. We have all seen movies; one does not have to have been married before to know how to act at a wedding, anyone can do it. Not everyone can do it right!
It would be as if you are traveling and have reached a beautiful destination and all you do is take photos. You should stop and enjoy where you are in life. You should stop and smell the flowers at your own wedding as well.
